Volunteers in Partnership

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has volunteer opportunities through our Volunteers in Partnership (VIP) program. VIPs can potentially work anywhere in the agency providing a valuable service to sheriff’s office staff and at a great savings to taxpayers.

Program Requirements

Must be a citizen of the United States
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess a valid driver license
Successfully complete a program application
Pass a background investigation

There are no minimum service hour requirements and VIPs can set their own hours relative to their assignment.

Currently, there are no openings for Volunteers in Partnership.

Calling or texting 911 connects you to law enforcement, fire rescue, and EMS. Use 911 for any emergency, including crimes in progress, fires, critical medical situations, and serious vehicle crashes.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office also has a non-emergency number – 727-582-6200 – for crimes that are not in progress, and for general information. If you are unsure whether your situation is a true emergency, please call 911 and the call taker will determine if you need emergency assistance.
